Freshman Seminar
Freshman Seminar is an elective course specifically designed for incoming ninth grade students, similar to the Freshman Seminar courses often seen at universities and colleges. The course will focus on supporting and empowering students as they navigate their initial high school year. Topic areas will emphasize decision making, problem solving, teamwork/collaboration, and professionalism/work ethic. Students will develop a personalized plan that will lay the foundation for success throughout high school and prepare them for college and career opportunities. This is a yearlong course for one elective credit, graded Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory, and takes the place of a traditional study hall.
