Ebony Woodard, Assistant Principal
Ebony Woodard is an assistant principal at Toll Gate Elementary. Ms. Woodard is originally from the small town of Akron, Ohio. She had big dreams that required her to leave. After graduation from high school, Ms. Woodard began her college career at The Ohio State University. She was 17 years old, leaving her amazing mother and grandmother for the first time. They were her backbones, and the strong women that shaped Ms. Woodard into who she is today. She graduated after four years and moved to Texas. Ms. Woodard lived in Texas alone for two years. It was there she discovered her love for education. It was also there that she learned the true definition of resilience. Ms. Woodard relocated to Ohio and received her first master's degree in special education/curriculum and instruction from University of Akron. Ms. Woodard was an intervention specialist/ emotional disturbance teacher for seven years. She then went back to school because she felt her time in the classroom had come to an end. Ms. Woodard then pursued her second master's degree in administration from University of Akron. Ms. Woodard is now enrolled at Ashland University to begin her doctoral journey.
But out of all of this, Ms. Woodard considers her greatest accomplishment to be the birth of her amazing little boy, Blayce Ellis. Blayce is her pride, her joy, and her reason! He has come into her world and deepened her passion for helping kids to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Ms. Woodard pulls into work every day feeling that she is doing what she loves. This is a hobby for her and not a job. She has a true passion for working with kids and can't see herself leaving the world of education... her purpose is to help, love, care, lead, and teach... and there are too many kids that she still needs to reach! Contact Ms. Woodard by phone at 614-834-6300 or by email.
