Pickerington Schools Announces Superintendent Search
Pickerington Schools Board of Education Launches Search for New Superintendent
Pickerington Local School District (PLSD) is pleased to announce the launch of its search for a new Superintendent in collaboration with K-12 Business Consulting, Inc., a leading organization supporting school boards across Ohio. K-12 Consulting will provide valuable insights and expertise throughout the search process as PLSD prepares to welcome a visionary leader committed to guiding the District into its next chapter of growth and success.
"This is an exciting time for our growing District, and as we look to the future, we must find an innovative thought leader who can guide us forward," said Clay Lopez, Board of Education President. "Our schools serve a diverse and dynamic community, and we need a Superintendent with the vision, expertise, and commitment to ensure that every student is empowered to succeed. We are committed to selecting a leader who will build on our strong foundation and bring fresh perspectives to address the unique challenges and opportunities ahead."
In early November, K-12 Consulting will conduct focus groups with staff, students, families, and community members. Feedback gathered during these sessions will be essential in defining the qualities and experience needed in the next Superintendent. A Search Profile, outlining these desired qualifications, will be published on November 15, 2024, as a resource for prospective applicants.
Two Community Forums will be held on November 7, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., at two different locations:
Pickerington High School North (Lecture Hall), 7800 Refugee Road
Pickerington High School Central, 300 Opportunity Way
This search follows Superintendent Chris Briggs' announcement of his retirement, effective January 31, 2025. Briggs has served as Superintendent since 2017, leading PLSD with a dedication to educational excellence and community engagement. The Board of Education is seeking a qualified candidate with a strong track record in educational leadership and administration, with a target start date of August 1, 2025.
To foster community involvement and transparency, a dedicated Superintendent Search page has been launched on the District's website. Here, the community and prospective applicants can find important updates and announcements throughout the process.
Applications will be accepted through January 10, 2025, with first-round interviews scheduled for early February and final interviews planned for late February.
