Here at Harmon Middle School, we believe in the importance of TEAM. Our teaching teams provide many benefits for our students and our staff. Benefits for students include increased student engagement, more time being taught, and better student outcomes. Teaching teams allow for a greater ability to meet students' individual needs and this can lead to higher academic achievement. Team teaching also helps teachers. Working in a team can help teachers by providing opportunities for greater collaboration and communication with each other. Teachers can share ideas and create a more engaging classroom, leading to increased instructional time, improved student outcomes, and increased job satisfaction.
Each of Harmon's teaching teams has a unique name that ties into the larger framework and concept of being a Harmon HERO. These names are created by the teams and encompass the unique identity, culture, and overall values of the team.
