Vision
We are dedicated to building a transparent, informed, and engaged community through clear, timely, and accurate communication that empowers our students, staff, and families.
Our Role
The Office of Public Relations/Communications is the central hub for managing both internal and external communications about our students, staff, programs, and initiatives. Our goal is to keep the PLSD community informed with accurate and transparent updates through multiple channels. From celebrating achievements and programs to communicating district operations and finances, we highlight the stories that make Pickerington Schools an exciting and inspiring place to learn. Integrity and transparency guide our efforts, ensuring that the PLSD community always receives clear, reliable updates.
Media & Crisis Communications
We are the District’s first point of contact for media inquiries, managing requests for information and interviews to ensure our message is clear and consistent. In times of celebration or crisis, we provide timely, reliable updates to keep our community informed and engaged.
Community Partnerships
We prioritize building strong relationships with individuals, organizations, and businesses throughout Pickerington. These partnerships help us better serve students, staff, and the wider community, fostering trust and encouraging active involvement in our schools.
Why It Matters
Effective communication strengthens the connection between our schools and the community, fostering trust and encouraging participation in student success. By providing clear, accessible information, we ensure everyone can engage and support the district’s goals.
Stay Engaged
Stay connected with what’s happening in Pickerington Schools by visiting the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, Peachjar Digital Flyerboard, the Pickerington Community Calendar, and Pickerington Magazine. We encourage feedback and value open dialogue, working together to support our students and the community.

To ensure a streamlined process, all media inquiries, including requests for interviews, video recordings, or photographs involving Pickerington Schools' employees, students, or board members, must be directed to the Office of Public Relations/Communications.

Peachjar Digital Flyerboard
Thanks for reaching out and your interest in posting fliers for Pickerington Schools' students and staff. Pickerington Schools is now only distributing fliers electronically through the Peachjar app.
To sign up for a Peachjar account, please visit https://accounts.peachjar.com/signup
Nonprofit organizations may qualify for free flier distribution. If your organization is a nonprofit, it must meet the following requirements for free flier distribution:
All fliers submitted for free distribution will be reviewed by Peachjar for verification of eligibility and must comply with the following requirements:
-
Your charitable program, service, or resource directly benefits children and does not require participants to qualify, has no enticement for future fee-based programs, and does not serve the purpose of fundraising, collecting donations, or allowing for the purchase of products or services.
-
Your organization is not nationally recognized and physically resides within the boundaries of the school district you wish to distribute to.
-
Your organization is not receiving fees or revenue from vendors participating in the event.
If so, you'll need to email support@peachjar.com to get approval and get that process going.
If it does not meet the above requirements, go to the For-Profit Businesses section on that same page and complete the process under that section to get your flier distributed/put into the system.
Keep in mind that if you do end up having to pay for flier distribution, it is just $25/flier for each school selected.
When you consider that the average color copy costs ten cents to produce, if you were to print and distribute hard copy fliers to every PLSD student just one time, the price tag would be over $1000. Peachjar makes flier delivery much more efficient, much cheaper, and it provides a once-per-week email to parents which includes the flier(s) from the school(s) that their student(s) attend(s).
Hope this helps and let us know if you have any additional questions.

Social Media Commenting
All of Pickerington Schools social media pages will focus on celebrating and supporting our schools, students and teachers, as well as sharing important news and communicating event information. We encourage you to share your support, connect with other supporters, and visit frequently for news and updates.
For purposes of these guidelines, social media are defined as Internet-based applications that facilitate communication (e.g., interactive/two-way conversation/dialogue) and networking between individuals or groups, but do not include sending or receiving email through the use of district-issued email accounts.
While we encourage healthy and productive dialogue on social media, our first priority is to protect students, staff, board members and community members. The district has the right and obligation to remove any social media posts or comments that do not adhere to Pickerington Schools District Board Policies, Student and Staff Technology Acceptable Use and Safety policies, Student Code of Conduct, and the commenting guidelines below. Comments or posts that do not adhere to district policies and regulating guidelines will be addressed in accordance with board policies, subject to potential discipline and/or remediation, including, but not limited to, the blocking of the social media user from further accessing the district’s social media outlets.
Under no circumstances will the district tolerate cyberbullying, cyberstalking, harassment, intimidation, and/or posts or comments that are discriminatory, racist, sexist, abusive, profane, violent, obscene, political in nature, spam, off-topic, contain falsehoods, or that libel, incite, threaten or make ad hominem attacks on students, employees, guests, board members or other individuals.
The district does not permit posts or comments that sell or promote products or other commercial ventures. However, this does not preclude district staff from their use of social media to increase awareness of district programs and activities, as well as to promote achievements of staff and students pursuant to board policy and subject to the superintendent's advance approval.
Participation in the district’s social media outlets is at the discretion and risk of the individual. Each social media participant is expected to take personal responsibility for the individual’s social media identity, including, but not limited to, comments, username and any information provided. Please be aware that all content and posts are also bound by the social media outlet’s terms of service, such as Facebook’s Terms of Service.
The district encourages user interaction on its social pages, but is not responsible (beyond its monitoring obligations) for comments or postings made by visitors to the page. Additionally, the appearance of external links, as posted by fans of the district’s page or other social media users, does not constitute endorsement on behalf of the district. In most, if not all cases, external links posted by social media users will be removed.
Social media users are reminded to not provide private or personal information (phone, email, addresses, etc.) regarding oneself or others on the district’s social media outlets. Any posts or comments containing personal information of this nature will be promptly removed and/or hidden.
